Day 01: Chennai 

Arrive Chennai (Flight details awaited)

On arrival at Chennai International airport you will be met by TBI representative and transferred to hotel. Chennai, formerly known Madras, is the capital city of Tamil Nadu and one of the foremost tourist destinations of South India. Popularly regarded as the ‘Gateway to the South’

Day 02: Chennai

Breakfast at Hotel.

Morning Proceed for guided tour of Mylapore Temple, Fort St. George Museum, St. Mary’s Church and Bronze Gallery at National Museum.

Drive to Mahabalipuram (60 Km/ approx. 1hr 30 mins) - known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries.

On arrival check into hotel.

Day 03: Mahabalipuram

Breakfast at Hotel.

Morning  Proceed for a sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram – Visit The Shore temple beside the se shore, here is three-in-one abode of God, containing a Vishnu Temple and two Shiva temples. Visit Arjuna Penance of with the mythology and the history of the Ganges. A curiosity of the city is " Krishnas Butterball " - a lonely standing round very large boulder on a small hill, which looks as if it could roll at any moment. 

Drive to Pondicherry - (95 Km /approx 2hrs): Former French Colony, the city has strong French influence especially in the Old Quarter along the Promenade.

On arrival check into the hotel & relax.

Day 04: Pondicherry

Breakfast at Hotel.

Proceed on sightseeing tour of Auroville - founded in 1968 by the spiritual leader Mirra Alfassa as a town where people from all over the world could live in harmony. Its focal point is the Matrimandir, a futuristic, spherical temple covered in gold discs. Auroville Beach is a long sandy stretch with gentle surf. Aurobindo Ashram - the Ashram is a spiritual community, grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he settled in Pondicherry. 

Proceed to Tanjore (170 km/Approx 4 Hrs) - An important center of South Indian religion, art, and architecture. 

On arrival, check into the hotel & relax.

Day 05: Tanjore/ Kumbakonam

Breakfast at Hotel.

Proceed on tour of fascinating Brihadeshwara Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enclosed in two courtyards, this towered temple houses an exquisitely decorated shrine. 

Drive to Chettinad (140 km / 3 hrs): wellknown for its mansions, temples and culinary delicacies.

On arrival, check into the hotel & relax.

Day 06: Chettinad

Breakfast at Hotel

Proceed on tour of Chettinad Mansions - The elaborately decorated, intricate design and unique feature of the Chettinad mansions makes them class apart. Also visit Athangudy Tile Makers - a neighboring village, famous for its handmade tiles. There are over hundred small scale tile factories in this village where the entire tile making process is carried out by human hands. Explore old streets, temples, markets and antique stores from the comfort of a bullock cart ride.

Drive to Madurai (90 km/approx 2Hrs) : More than 3,500 years old and has remained a major center for Tamil culture and learning. The city is often referred to as the "Athens of the East. 

On arrival, check into the hotel & relax.

Attend Aarti Ceremony at Meenakshi Temple.

Day 07: Madurai

Breakfast at Hotel.

Proceed to visit Meenakshi Temple at a prayer time- on of the primary places of interest in Madurai, for which thousands of people from all over the world descend here every year. Also visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace.                           

Later Proceed to Thekkady (145 km/Approx 4 Hrs.)

From 1895, the British maintained the area as wildlife Preserve and there are still opportunities to find elephants, Bison, deer, and varieties of birds. The rugged landscape is very tropical and well suited to tea, coffee & spices. 

On arrival, check into hotel.

Day 08: Thekkady

Proceed on a leisurely guided jungle walk in the Reserve to enjoy the flora and fauna. Visit Spice Garden where you can learn about various spices which are grown in the region and are commonly used all over the country. Rest of the day is free to relax / rejuvenate with Ayurvedic massage.

Day 09: Thekkady

Breakfast at Hotel

Proceed to Alleppey backwaters (130 kms / approx 4 hrs) - best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons.

On arrival board your private House Boat and cruise on the Backwaters - full of canals, rivers and lakes. Relax on deck or in private lounge to observe the locals going about their daily chores - sailing, fishing, swimming, washing, cooking and more. Between the waterways are extensive paddy field and coconut palms. Enjoy Kerala cuisine cooked on houseboat.

Overnight : Houseboat    


Day 10: Alleppey

Breakfast on houseboat

Morning Disembark houseboat & drive to Kovalam Beach (170 kms / approx. 4 hrs 30 mins) - a small coastal town, known as the ‘Paradise of the South’.

Arrive Kovalam, check into resort & relax.

Overnight : Hotel
